A vision quest following her mother's death seemed simple enough. What she wasn't prepared for, was a vision that would lead her to a covenant holding the world's ecological balance in place. Follow one woman's journey as she navigates grief, trust, love and the power of saying "yes."
In the wake of caring for—and losing, her mother, True ventures into the wilderness of the Four Corners desert, seeking solace, and direction. But an encounter in the desert hijacks her plans… and her heart.
Anasazi Vision is a journey into our shared experience of being human, a fictional novel birthed from a vision quest and shaped by the experiences that followed. It is an extraordinary tale—decades long in the making, that follows one woman as she unravels the message of a vision. You will fall in love with True, her archaeologist boyfriend, an endearing 103 year old Hopi elder, and the characters that support True as she enters the "River of Trust," and finds her way to peace.
Anasazi Vision is a beautifully written story—as honest, intimate and sweetly spiritual, as it is rare and perceptive. You will be sharing this book, touted The Celestine Prophecy of our generation, told with the honesty and intimacy of Cheryl Strayed’s novel, Wild. Its message is as timely for the individual heart as it is for the world we find ourselves living in. It is a beacon of hope and inspiration, a beautifully woven tale of courage, transformation, stewardship, and the enduring power of the human spirit.

Wowza True. Your story is amazing. This feels to me like the Celestine Prophecy of our generation. I am overjoyed that this is in the hands of the world.
I'm reading it for the second time. You sure tell a good story. This is beautiful and I liked being able to go out to your Anasazi website and read about the story behind this book. That rounded things out well. Why? Because I do think people will question how you ended up writing about this as another white woman talking about the Hopi. There is large attention to cultural appropriation now. I think knowing more of your actual story that led you to write this, and that you worked with a Hopi elder will dissolve these questions and thoughts. You wrote well about the land, what people looked like...you know to "show and not tell" the reader. I could feel all of your emotions from feelings of love to fear.
I did not want it to end without getting more answers. Well done on leaving me hanging. Oh, yeah. I can't wait for the next book. I look forward to when I am able to post a review to go with the release of your book.
Thank you so much for sharing your book with me! I started reading it last night, not having any idea what it was about. The first chapter had me bawling like a baby. I knew that taking care of your mother had been extremely challenging and emotional for you. Reading your beautiful words and feeling like I was right there with you was breaking my heart for you! It also sent me back in time to when I took care of my mother after one of her many surgeries. Her incision had become infected and I had to clean it for her. She would scream in pain and I had to set my emotions aside until I would go to my bedroom and let myself feel it and cry it out.
I’m so glad that your mama didn’t die like in the book. That part brought me back to you saying this was a fiction story, although I know that much of it is your truth that you lived.
I had trouble setting your book down, so I read until I had to stop and go to bed. So far, I think it’s really amazing!
Beautifully written. Honest and real. Innocent and alive. Sweetly spiritual and perceptive. You capture the moment and we live there with you.
I love the book. It is not one I would have pick up, but I am glad I did. Here is how I describe it: If you want to be transported from Oregon to Mexico and take a journey from your head to your heart, this is it. I love your descriptions, humor, a little romance, learning about the Hopi, energy flow, history of tribes in the US and Mexico. It is a great book.
I just finished reading the book. I'm ready for my vision quest and hypnotherapy!!!
I love the symbolism of the river, as it ebbs and flows through True's journey, with fast moving current, restful pools of reflection, and connection with the wisdom of Mother Earth.
I enjoyed how you interlaced your life throughout this captivating story. Your detailed descriptions dance and bring the scenes to life. I was for the protagonist all the way, as she made self-changes as the story progressed. And I could relate to her. Chapter 7 stood out because it was suspenseful.
Your exchange with the spirit of Roger was touching and felt real. Biscolli and your unfolding relationship with him was endearing in a push-pull sense. I could relate. I was intrigued by what the 103 year old elder said. I have visited some of the areas in the book, like Canyon de Chelly, the Four Corners and surrounding area, including Durango. When I see the number 3 as you mentioned in the book, I look at that connection as the soul providing a direct message. It is a reassurance that the right path is being chosen. I loved the ending. I saw that Hopi poem years ago and have a copy of it. It is the perfect way to lead to the next book.
Overall, I would say to someone who reads this, especially those who may be unfamiliar with this subject, that your book will grab their interest because of the detail and divine theme affecting this world. It encourages using the imagination and possibly rearranging their belief system around spiritual matters. Also, the attitude-gratitude is simple, but powerful when it is set as an intention as a way to live life.
I love your writing style, the descriptive detail and naturally, your story. I feel like I am hanging on the edge, waiting to find out more about Leo.
You are truly brave! I enjoy the outdoors tremendously, but have never spent the night outside alone! I am in awe and truly inspired by your vision quest! It has been a long time since I set out on one! I love that you honored our 4 Archangels to protect your space. You are very gifted in so many ways!
I am very much enjoying your book, and the message around acceptance and trust on the path of spiritual development is landing on my heart in familiar territory. I am very happy to know that you are birthing a beautiful creation from your own spiritual journey.
